Oct.14,2011. In a ceremonious atmosphere, all officers and staff of Petroleum Company, Region 1 (Petrolimex Hanoi) received the Independence Medal, First Class, granted by The President of The State on the occasion of its 55th founding anniversary.
Trade and Industry News: Present at the ceremony were Vice Minister of Home Affairs, Head of the Central Commission for Emulation and Awards, Standing Deputy President of the State Committee for Emulation and Awards Tran Thi Hang; Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa; leaders of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation and representatives of various central and local authorities.
Recalling the history of establishment and development of the enterprise, Mr. Tran Dac Xuan, Chairman and Director of Petrolimex Hanoi stated that on April 13, 1956 the Ministry of Commerce issued Decree No. 104/BTN-ND-TC establishing the Hanoi Gasoline, Oil and Grease Company( forerunner of the present Petrolimex Hanoi) in line of the Gasoline, Oil and Grease Corporation (forerunner of present Petrolimex Vietnam). This event marked a new step of development of petroleum sector in the Capital of Hanoi. In the course of 55 years of building and development , although faced with numerous sacrifices, difficulties and hardship, in any circumstance this petroleum Company guaranteed the source of supply of oils for natural construction and defense. In recent five years, the company made striking progress. Data of 2005 and 2010 clearly showed oil sale increased by 50%, turnover increased by 240%, contribution to budget by 222%, and profits by 154%...

As far as development orientation for the time to come, Mr. Tran Dac Xuan stressed that the company will continue to focus in new investment, upgrade and modernize the chain of petroleum outlets, increase the ability of attracting customers, enlarge retail market share, satisfactorily fulfilling the role of regulating and stabilizing oil market in the area of operation. To continue investing in the modernization of terminals, stores and retail stations. To introduce technological advancement to production and business activities, improve and renovate methods of enterprise management along the line of modernization and efficiency so as to raise human resource quality and create good environment for officers and workers to contribute their efforts and allegiance to the unit.
Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa highly valued the efforts of all officers and men of Petrolimex Hanoi. The Minister said:: “ Achievement of today is gained by blood and sweat of various generations of officers and men of the unit. This is the honor, the pride and also the base for younger generation to continue promoting the building of the company for ever greater development.”. The Minister suggested the company to pay more attention to the maximization of its business advantage, firmly maintain and expand the wholesale market and expand the retail market. Besides, attention should be paid to the training and retraining of the labour force, thus properly responding to the demand of mastering and operating modern and up-to-date equipment in existing terminals and stores, and invest in development plans of the unit.
On the occasion of its 55th founding anniversary, Petrolimex Hanoi was honoured to receive the Independence Medal, first class granted by the Party and the State. Mr. Tran Dac Xuan and Mr. Le Dinh Hai, former Vice Director of the company, were granted Labour Medals, third class. Mr. Le Xuan Dang, former Director of Duc Giang Oil Depot and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vien, Director of Business Department were given Diplomas by the Government Prime Minister.
