Petrolimex promotes digital transformation strategy among managers
On September 27, 2023, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) organised a programme to promote and train the staff on the “Petrolimex Digital Transformation Strategy by 2025, with a vision to 2030” in a hybrid format.
Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Chairman – Head of Petrolimex Digital Transformation Steering Committee Pham Van Thanh presided over the programme which also witnessed the attendance of Deputy Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Board of Management member – Director General – Head of Petrolimex Digital Transformation Implementation Committee Dao Nam Hai, the Group leaderships and nearly 3,000 management staff at all levels from the Parent Company to Corporations, Companies, Branches, Warehouses and Petrol Stations under Petrolimex.
FPT Digital Consulting Director Vuong Quan Ngoc and members of the consulting group were in attendance to talk about digital information.
With a vision to 2035 to become a leading energy group in Vietnam, specialising in green, clean, high-quality, and environmentally-friendly fuel products on the basis of the Industry 4.0 technology and comprehensive technological transformation, Petrolimex has applied information technology and digitisation to the management, direction and operation of production and business activities.
To fulfil goals; maintain the role, position, competitiveness; and ensure the sustainability of the Group in both the short and long term, Petrolimex continues to promote the process of preparation and implementation of digital transformation. This is an urgent need, stemming from Petrolimex’s internal requirements, and at the same time, it is also an objective requirement in the cause of the national digitalisation.
\With the implementation plan of the Digital Transformation Strategy, Petrolimex has set the following objectives: training and disseminating the basic contents of the Digital Transformation Strategy to all people engaged in the preparation and implementation of digital transformation, including leaders, managers, and representatives of labourers/users; enabling the leaders, managers, and labourers to understand the guiding principles, orientations, objectives, requirements, tasks, and solutions of the Digital Transformation Strategy, and to have sufficient information for active participation in the preparation and implementation process of the Digital Transformation Strategy according to the general roadmap/plan of the Group; discussing to clarify and enhance awareness of the requirements and tasks of leaders, managers, and labourers in order to achieve unity in the preparation and implementation of the Digital Transformation Strategy in line with the approved roadmap/plan.
During the training programme, FPT consultants presented from an overview to the details of the Digital Transformation Strategy, including key contents such as: Survey results on the current digital transformation status and needs of the Group and its member units; Assessment of the Group’s level of digital maturity; Methodology and case studies for developing the Digital Transformation Strategy; Vision, objectives, and requirements of the Group’s Digital Transformation Strategy; Solutions, technologies, and 25 digital initiatives to help the Group implement comprehensive digital transformation based on three pillars: Corporate governance, product governance, and customer governance and two leverage factors: Information Technology and automation platforms, and the development of Petrolimex digital human resource and digital culture.
Delivering a keynote speech at the event, the Secretary of the Petrolimex Party Committee – Chairman, Head of Petrolimex Digital Transformation Steering Committee Pham Van Thanh acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Digital Transformation Implementation Committee and FPT, the consulting partner, in coordination with the Group and its member units over the past time. On the occasion, he requested the leaders of the units, who are also heads of the units’ digital transformation implementation committees, leaders and managers at all levels, and representatives of the labourers to actively and attentively participate in the training programme to satisfy requirements that “All those involving in the preparation and implementation of the Digital Transformation Strategy must be well trained and equipped with basic contents of the Digital Transformation Strategy, including: (1) Vision; (2) Objectives, requirements; (3) Tasks, solutions; (4) Implementation roadmap/plan; (5) Implementation resources; and (6) Implementation principles”.
Deputy Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Board of Management member – Director General – Head of Petrolimex Digital Transformation Implementation Committee Dao Nam Hai acknowledged the efforts of the members of the Digital Transformation Steering Committee/Implementation Committee for having closely coordinated with the consulting firm FPT to complete the consulting project for the Digital Transformation Strategy. On the occasion, he shared some messages as follows:
(1) Diffusion: The Digital Transformation Strategy will not only be apprehended by the Group’s and unit members’ leaders but be spread to all departments and individuals in the units so that there will be a mutual understanding and awareness of the proposed perspectives, visions, objectives, requirements, tasks and solutions. We request the leadership of member units to continue implementing and communicating the Digital Transformation Strategy throughout the whole system within their respective units.
(2) Comprehensiveness and consistency: Digital transformation must be carried out thoroughly in all processes including customer governance, commodity governance, corporate governance, risk management, and change management, among others which aims to realise the vision that Petrolimex will become Vietnam’s leading energy corporation in terms of green, clean, high-quality, and environmentally-friendly energy products based on the foundation of the Industry 4.0 technology and comprehensive digital transformation.
(3) Innovation and creativity: The implementation of digital transformation must be able to update new things, closely linked to business and production activities, timely, and catch up with new trends of staying green, clean, smart and convenient.
(4) Experience: Digital transformation is a process in which we have to continuously improve and enhance processes, technologies and people to experience ourselves while creating differences for customers and partners. Through experience, piloting, and upgrading, we will continue to create values for the business and enhance capabilities as well as competitiveness.
(5) Efficiency: Digital transformation must create and achieve specific outcomes such as increased revenue, productivity, labour efficiency output, and customers and collect data to general added values and raise capital sources for reinvestment in the unit.
Additionally, leaders of the member units cum heads of Digital Transformation Steering Committee/Implementation Committee are required to continue directing their own units to study, built and propose specific programmes and plans in line with their actual situations to drastically implement the general Digital Transformation Strategy of the Group as set objectives.
Implementing the Resolution No 93-NQ/ĐU dated November 12, 2021 and Action Programme No 401-CTr/ĐU dated February 22, 2022 of the Petrolimex Party’s Standing Committee on “Digital transformation in the Vietnam National Petroleum Group by 2025, with a vision to 2030”, the Group has worked with its member units and relevant parties to implement digital transformation and achieved certain results as follows: (1) The Group has established the Digital Transformation Steering Committee, the Digital Transformation Implementation Committee; and directed member units to establish their own Digital Transformation Steering Committee/Implementation Committee. (2) The Group has selected FPT as the consulting party for the development of the “Group’s Digital Transformation Strategy by 2025, with a vision to 2030”. (3) The Group has collaborated closely with FPT, the Group’s Digital Transformation Steering Committee/Implementation Committee, and member units to study the current status, assess digital maturity, determine demands for digital transformation, analyse and select solutions, and propose the “Group’s Digital Transformation Strategy by 2025, with a vision to 2030”. |
