Petrolimex launches training programme on Business administration – Global leadership – Green energy transition

On the morning of November 21, 2024, at Andrews University in Michigan, USA, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) held the opening ceremony of the Business Administration – Global Leadership – Green Energy Transition training programme which will run from November 21, 2024, to November 30, 2024. This is a training programme organised for leaders at all levels of Petrolimex.




The opening ceremony was held solemnly, featuring the Vice President of Andrews University, Dr. Alayne Thorpe; Chairman of Petrolimex, Pham Van Thanh; alongside the entire the university Board of Directors, faculty members, and 20 Petrolimex students participating in the programme. The students are leaders at various levels within the Group, including leaders from member petroluem companies, corporations, and joint stock companies under Petrolimex.
The training programme encompasses eight modules: (1) Leadership and resilience; (2) Leading and creating collective impacts; (3) Talent attraction, innovation, and governance; (4) Leadership and organisational motivation; (5) Global energy transition trends; (6) Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG); (7) Sustainable development in the context of the Green Energy Transition; and (8) Technology trends in the Green Energy Space. These modules are taught by a team of experts, including professors, doctors, and researchers from Andrews University, USA.
In addition to the classes at Andrews University, the programme also includes site visits, research trips, and practical learning experiences at businesses that produce and trade green, clean, high-quality, and environmentally friendly fuels, as well as engagements with the business community in Shipshewana, Indiana. These experiences help students access the most advanced management models available today.
This training course, combined with site visits to businesses in the US and organised by Petrolimex for the first time, offers a completely new experience that awakens new leadership and management thinking skills, providing access to global trends in sustainability and the importance of green energy.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh emphasised that the training programme demonstrates Petrolimex's strategic vision and strong commitment to investing in the development of high-quality human resources to meet the increasingly fierce demands of the global energy market. The cooperation between Petrolimex and Andrews University also stands as a testament to the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the US in the field of education.
On behalf of Andrews University, Vice President Dr. Alayne Thorpe warmly welcomed participants, sharing that Andrews University, renowned for its long history and experience in global education, is honoured and proud to co-organise this training programme with Petrolimex – a leading enterprise steering the Vietnamese market in the petroleum and energy business. Dr. Thorpe emphasised that the programme is expected to provide the knowledge and skills to help the Group's leaders and managers unlock new ways of thinking about leadership and management, improve operational efficiency, and successfully achieve the Group's objectives. That is particularly significant in the context of the Green Energy Transition and sustainable development, based on the strong development of technology.
Following the opening ceremony, the students immediately began the main content with a serious spirit and high determination, promising an exciting and effective learning programme.
