Petrolimex holds conference on enhancing warehouse, petrol station management and operation
On September 20, 2023, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) organised the “Vapour Recovery Technology and Fire Safety Solutions, Environmental Protection for Warehouse Facilities and Petrol Stations” conference at Fortuna Hotel, Hanoi.
Taking place over two days, September 20-21, 2023, the hybrid conference witnessed the attendance of more than 300 participants, including leaders and technical management officers of warehouses, depots of Petrolimex’s member units.

Representing Petrolimex was Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Su.
The conference was held within the framework of the technical cooperation projects among Petrolimex, JCCP and ENEOS, in which the Japanese experts provide information, technologies and technical solutions as well as share experience related to fire prevention and control, and environmental protection, enabling Petrolimex officers to learn about helpful knowledge and experience in approaching new technologies applied in warehouse facilities and petrol stations.
The technical topics presented by Japanese experts at the conference include:
(1) Introduction to VOC emission standards and the current application of vapour recovery technology for storage tanks in Japan;
(2) Introduction to vapour recovery technology for petrol stations;
(3) Introduction to fire protection and fighting equipment and systems at petrol stations;
(4) Introduction to water-plugging pipe column;
(5) Introduction to devices and solutions to prevent mix-ups at petrol stations and tank truck loading racks;
(6) Introduction to technology for inspecting and cleaning underground storage tanks at petrol stations.
On the sidelines of the conference, there were site visits to Do Xa and Duc Giang oil depots.
Delivering opening remarks, Petrolimex Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Su said Petrolimex has made efforts to gradually implement solutions and technologies to ensure fire prevention and control, and environmental protection to support the Government’s policy on specific regulations and roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with the spirit of COP26. The collaboration with JCCP and ENEOS in successfully organising many conferences has helped improve Petrolimex officers’ knowledge of new technologies in the petroleum industry such as automation, advanced inspection technology for storage tanks and pipelines in warehouse facilities, etc. At the conference, the solutions and technologies that Japanese experts introduce are selected from the urgent needs of Petrolimex’s actual operations. Thus, the Deputy Director General expected that Petrolimex’s officials will absorb valuable knowledge to apply in practice, contributing to maintaining Petrolimex’s stable and safe production and business activities, and enhancing its competitiveness and development in the future.
