The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) donated VND2 billion (US$82,000) to the 17th “Spring for You” programme during a ceremony held by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children at the Cultural Friendship Palace in Ha Noi on December 16, 2023. 

The programme witnessed the attendance of the Party Central Committee member, Vice State President cum Chairwoman of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children’s Sponsorship Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Party Central Committee member, Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Social Affairs Nguyen Thuy Anh; Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and member of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children’s Sponsorship Council Nguyen Thi Ha; along representatives of relevant bodies, ministries and sectors, and donors that have made significant contributions to the protection, care and education of children over the past year. 

The programme aims to honour individuals and organisations that have companied the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, contributing to the general cause of the Party and State in caring for children living in impoverished or extremely impoverished conditions. It also aims to call for the donors’ continued support for children with disability, orphans, and disadvantaged children across the country.

The "Spring for You" programme is an annual event of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children. It is a prominent humanitarian activity that aims to support children with special and difficult circumstances. It also aims to connect, spread and effectively mobilise social resources both domestic and foreign for the sake of children. The 17th “Spring for You” programme  with the theme “Flying into the future” is dedicated to beautiful gestures for needy children, providing them with meaningful gifts on the occasion of the Lunar New Year - the Year of the Dragon.

As a State-owned enterprise that makes significant contributions to the national economy and energy security, Petrolimex has always paid due attention to social welfare and considers it as an essential content for the Group’s sustainable development to go further. They aim to promote the fine national tradition of “solidarity and support those in need”. With the desire that “No child is left behind”, Petrolimex is committed to continuing to accompany and support the cause of caring for, educating, and protecting children in general and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children in particular, so that each child can live, learn, and engage in activities under the best conditions, becoming useful citizens for the nation in the future.

After 16 years, the “Spring for You” programme has mobilised over VND1.375 trillion ($56 million) and supported some four million children with special and difficult circumstances through programmes: granting scholarships, supplying clean water and supporting surgeries for children with congenital heart defects, eye defects, and mobility impairments; building classrooms and boarding houses for children in impoverished and mountainous areas; assisting orphans, homeless children; and providing timely relief for children in areas suffering from natural disasters and epidemics. 

At the 17th “Spring for You” programme, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children received VND96 billion donated by 50 individuals and organisations for disadvantaged children in 2024.
