Lao Deputy PM pays a working visit to Petrolimex
On June 30, 2022, a high-ranking delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic General Chansamone Chanyalath had a working visit to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) at the Group’s Office – VCCI Tower, No 9 Dao Duy Anh St., Dong Da District, Hanoi.
The delegation led by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Laos General Chansamone Chanyalath included President of the Lao Front for National Construction Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune; Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Head of the LPRP Central Committee’s Office Thongsalith Mangnomek; Member of the LPRP Central Committee, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Sommad Pholsena; Member of the LPRP Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment Khamjane Vongphosy; Member of the LPRP Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defence Vongkham Phommakone; Member of the LPRP Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Director General of the Ministry of Public Security’s General Political Department Vanthong Kongmany; Member of the LPRP Central Committee, Minister of Energy and Mines Daovong Phonekeo; Head of the Socialism Faculty at the Lao National Academy of Politics and Administration Khambay Malasing; Head of Vietnam Section, Department of the Asia-Pacific and Africa, LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Somxayphone Thipphavong. The Ambassador of the Lao’s People Democratic Republic to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang and representatives from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations also joined the visiting delegation.
On Petrolimex’s side, the meeting witnessed the attendance of the Party Secretary, Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh; Deputy Party Secretary, Board of Management member, Director General Dao Nam Hai; Standing Deputy Party Secretary Dang Tran Hieu; Board of Management member, Deputy Director General Tran Ngoc Nam; Board of Management member, Deputy Director General Nguyen Thanh Son; Deputy Director General Nguyen Xuan Hung; heads of Divisions/Departments of the Groups and heads of the Group’s member companies, including Petrolimex Hanoi, Petrolimex Ha Son Binh, Petrolimex Petrochemical Corporation - JSC, Petrolimex Transportation Services Corporation and the Petrolimex Aviation Fuel JSC.
The meeting took place in a solemn atmosphere filled with cordiality and mutual trust to exchange and share information about production and business activities of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group in the domestic market in general and in the Lao market in particular.
Addressing the meeting, Party Secretary, Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh expressed his honour and pleasure to welcome the delegation led by Lao Deputy Prime Minister Chansamone Chanyalath on their working visit to the Group. He said the visit demonstrated the profound interest and support of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic towards the Vietnam National Petroleum Group.
Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh said he hoped Petrolimex would continue receiving the valuable sharing, support and assistance of the Deputy Prime Minister himself as well as of all members in the visiting delegation towards Petrolimex Laos – a member unit of Petrolimex, facilitating Petrolimex Laos to well perform its role and mission in supplying petroleum products for civil use, and production and business activities and to contribute to ensuring energy security in Laos.
Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Laos General Chansamone Chanyalath spoke highly of and congratulated Petrolimex on its achievements. The Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged considerable contributions by Petrolimex in general and Petrolimex Laos Ltd. in particular to the development of trade and friendship between the two countries. Reiterating his support for the development of Petrolimex in the future, the Lao Deputy PM said he expected both sides to make efforts to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully realise targets jointly set forth for energy cooperation.
