Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) held a ceremony to honour 26 managers of southern petrol stations for their excellence in work in 2016 and first six months of 2017 on September 4, 2017 at the headquarters of Petrolimex Saigon, at No 15 Le Duan, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Petrolimex Director General Tran Van Thinh, Chairman of Petrolimex Saigon Nguyen Van Canh, Director of Petrolimex Saigon Trinh Ba Bo, Director of Petroleum Retail Enterprise Nguyen Tien Quang and heads of some divisions/departments of Petrolimex/Petrolimex Saigon/Petroleum Retail Enterprise were in attendance at the ceremony.

Of note, the event witnessed the attendance of 26 petrol station managers who made excellent performance in the emulation movement to increase productivity and output in 2016 and first half of 2017 in the south.

Delivering a speech at the honouring ceremony, Petrolimex Director General Tran Van Thinh acknowledged and praised the contributions of petrol station managers as they have brought about not only positive spiritual values but also practical commercial interests. Also he affirmed the importance of petrol stations – "entrenched fortification" for business activities and the place that directly showcases brand value and traditional culture of Petrolimex.

Over the past years, the Group has always stayed consistent in pursuing the aims to accelerate, expand and develop retail network in width and in depth; and to sell enough quantity, ensure quality with best service. That is a process that many generations of the Group leaders have closely followed to develop.

Besides developing the retail network, the Group has created all resources to upgrade and repair petrol stations through activities such as: eGAS programme, brand identity, a mix of light and recently-launched Napas alliance to organise business activities efficiently and to create a Petrolimex like no other.

As the petroleum market is fiercely competitive, the role of petrol station managers in all activities at petrol station from safety assurance to product marketing, increased productivity, and connection with customers is of overriding significance. Under such context, the Petrolimex Director General required petrol station managers to be increasingly dynamic and responsible, together with their own capability and enthusiasm and the whole-hearted solidarity of all labourers, to improve work efficiency at petrol station in all facets, and develop in accordance with targets set by the Board of Management, which benefits society and consumers. That is the culture of Petrolimex.

At the honouring ceremony, representatives of best petrol station managers in the south expressed their deep gratitude to leaders of the Group and member companies for having always showed concern, encouraged and acknowledged the work of petrol station heads. Saying that that is their honour, pride as well as responsibility, representatives of petrol station managers promised to continue bringing into full play their capability to gain trust - love of customers for the Petrolimex brand.

The creativeness, passion and enthusiasm of petrol station managers together with efforts and solidarity of all labourers have generated the strength to make the petrol stations best-performing ones in their own enterprise. With such achievements, 26 managers of southern petrol stations deserve to be honoured and presented with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s certificates of merit.

Same day, the petrol station managers left for Japan for a five-day study tour to learn the Japanese spirit at the headquarters of JX Nippon Oil & Energy (Petrolimex’s strategic partner) and at some JX’s petrol stations.
