Van Phong Warehouse Co Ltd (Van Phong Terminal) in Van Phong economic zone of central coastal Khanh Hoa province is one of companies attracting large investment of over 122 million USD).

The terminal is designed to be equipped with modern technologies with top priority given to safety methods in order to avoid environmental and fire problems during the project’s construction.

According to Dao Minh Chau, General Director of Van Phong Terminal, before the project was kicked off, the Van Phong company has submitted a report on environmental impacts to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. He said that this is one of essential conditions for the project to be implemented effectively and safely.

During the construction, the company’s leaders have regularly conducted inspection over labour hygiene safety and fire prevention. Especially, the company outlined a host of fire protection measures, ensuring the safety for warehouse in different activities such as receiving, storing and operating, as well as for both people and property in the warehouse.

The fire fighting system is designed and installed based on highest safety standards set for domestic and foreign petroleum projects and in accordance with requirements of the US Fire Protection Association. It is suitable with separate units and items of the terminal - oil pumping station, import-export wharf, product container area, and equipped with modern fire-fighting facilities such as foam creator, solution mixing equipment, pipeline, fire fighting pumps and fire warning equipment, Chau said.

The Van Phong Terminal General Director affirmed that his company has also set forth preventative measures to monimise any negative impacts arising during the project’s construction and operation.
