State gets sponsored for being ASEAN chair
(Chinhphu.vn)- The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), the Army Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) are the four main sponsors of Vietnam in 2010 as it takes over the ASEAN Chair for the year.

On January 22, in Hanoi, a ceremony to sign the sponsorship contract was held between the Sub-committee for Materials and Logistics under the National Committee for ASEAN 2010 and the main sponsors, witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem.
The four main sponsors committed to implement this contract and described this as businesses’ responsibility towards the Party and the State’s foreign policies.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, Chairman of the National Committee for ASEAN 2010, welcomed the top businesses donating to one of the country’s major foreign affair events in 2010.
To successfully host the ASEAN chair in 2010, besides ability and experience, it is essential to have the financial resources, said the Deputy PM while speaking about the sponsors’ role.
The Deputy Prime Minister also spoke highly about the Sub-committees’ initiative to find the financial resources to host a range of activities during the year Vietnam holds the chair and said he hoped that many businesses will actively respond to these activities.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested that the Sub-committee uses the funds in a reasonable, economic and effective way.
The Vice Chairman of the Government Office Pham Viet Muon, Head of the Sub-committee, said that besides the main sponsors, many other businesses have also made donations./.
