50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation
On April 12th, 2006, at Viet-Xo Friendship Cultural Palace, Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) formally celebrated its 50th Anniversary of Establishment. On this special occasion, Petrolimex was awarded Ho Chi Minh Medal and granted the title of Hero of People Armed Forces.
At this anniversary, Petrolimex honorablely welcomed the presence of Vice-President Truong My Hoa, Former Vice-President Nguyen Thi Binh, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, Chairman of the Commitee of Vietnamese Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet, Chairwomen of Vietnam National Labor Union, Chairwomen of Vietnamese National Women Union Ha Thi Khiet, Mininster of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen, Vietnamese Mother Heroes, central and local leaders, representatives from various Ministries, Agencies, Unions, internal and external business counterparts. General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam sent conglatulatory bouquet for this event.
Vice President Truong My Hoa, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan on behalf of the Party, Government presented the awards and attached Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Corporation’s Traditional Flag andthe title of Hero of People Armed Forces. On this occasion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thu, Director of Tien Giang Petrolimex was granted the title of Labor Hero in the renovation period. Mr. Nguyen Manh Tien, Chairman of the Board of Management of Petrolimex was awarded Second Rank Labor Medal. Mr. Tran Van Duc, Director-General of Petrolimex was awarded Third Rank Labor Medal.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan on behalf of the Party, Government requested that "Petrolimex has to follow closely the need of national development, to have more productive business in order to get rid of government’s subsidairy, to improve competitive ability for the contribution to stablize and develop gasoil and gasoline market, to improve investment scale for the modernization of materials and technologies, to train and develop human resources, to perfect the model ofbussiness’s management. All of these tasks are assigned to meet the need ofinternational economic integration with the critical role of a state-owned corporation.”
Mr. Tran Van Duc, in his closing speech on behalf of Petrolimex leaders, staffs had the honor to acknowledge the words from the Deputy Prime Minister and expressed his sincere thanks to the leaders of the Party, Government, Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Unions, Ministries, Agencies, People’s Commitees of the Cities, Provinces, internal and external business counterparts for their presence as well as conglatory bouquets, gifts. Mr. Tran Van Duc also expressed a desire to constantly receive guidances, collaboration and support for expanding 50 years of Petrolimex’s sustainable and strong development.
