Tet gifts presented to needy families in mountainous areas
On January 29, 2018, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang’s Dong Van District jointly presented gifts to 300 underprivileged families in three communes of Ma Le, Pho Cao and Van Chai on the occasion of coming Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year - 2018). The gifts - 10kg of rice each - are part of the gift package totalling 19 tonnes of rice, worth over VND300 million (US$13,000).
Petrolimex Deputy Director General Vuong Thai Dung headed the trip which was also joined by Chairwoman of Petrolimex Ha Giang Tran Thi Thu Huong and other staff, and Dong Van District’s officials, Deputy Chairman of Vang Mi Cho District’s People’s Council and leaders of Ma Le, Pho Cao, and Van Chai communes.

This is the 9th consecutive year that Petrolimex has organised the programme to present Tet gifts to needy families in Dong Van District. The programme is of practical significance, demonstrating Petrolimex labourers’ care for impoverished households in the mountainous area, which enables them to have warm and joyful Tet celebration.
On the occasion, Petrolimex Ha Giang also gave 300 gifts, worth VND45 million ($2,000) each, to the 300 families in the communes of Ma Le, Pho Cao and Van Chai.
