Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and Saigontourist Cable Television Company (SCTV) signed MOU on communications
Ho Chi Minh City, January 09th, 2015 - Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and Saigontourist Cable Television Company (SCTV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on communications cooperation in 2015.

Witnessing the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Lich, Party Committee Secretary of the Central Trading Enterprises Sector of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Bui Ngoc Bao, Petrolimex Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of Petrolimex Board of Management and Mr. Tran Van Uy, SCTV Party Committee Secretary, General Director.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Dinh Thai Huong, Petrolimex standing committee of the party, President of Petrolimex Trade Union; Mr. Tran Van Thang, member of Petrolimex Board of Management, Petrolimex Sai Gon’s Party Committee Secretary, Chairman & Director; Petrolimex Sai Gon staffs and SCTV film crew.
According to the MOU, Petrolimex will facilitate SCTV film crew to make field trips to the Petrolimex group’s member companies in order to shoot a chronicle serial and broadcast on SCTV channels during 2015.
SCTV is one of the leaders in cable television industry in Vietnam which is authorized by the Prime Minister to form a joint venture between Vietnam Television station (VTV) and Saigontourist on August 27th 1992.
SCTV General Director Tran Van Uy said: “During 22 years build-up and development, SCTV network has coverage of over 90% nationwide and is one of the leaders in pay TV in Vietnam. SCTV is now broadcasting 150 high quality channels including 40 HD channels. In addition, with potential capacity and infrastructure, the Company has self-produced 31 specified and diversified channels (including 14 HD channels). Currently, SCTV is the first company in Vietnam successfully deployed integrated service package based on public telecommunications infrastructure including: analog cable television, digital cable television, Internet, IPTV (VOD), VoIP, etc. Especially in 2014, SCTV has successfully tested broadcasting 4K resolution on its channels”.
Petrolimex General Director Tran Van Thinh said: “Petrolimex believes that SCTV with its experience and prestige will give audiences all over the country the truest images of Petrolimex staffs who has revolutionary tradition of Vietnam petroleum industry throughout 60 years of emulation in production with the spirit of “Responsibility – Enthusiasm – Optimism – Confidence” in close relationship with our beloved Fatherland”.
Work of press on Petrolimex which is produced and broadcasted by SCTV also a practical activity to implement Resolutions of the 9th Party Congress, to welcome the great festive occasions of the country in 2015 and encourage the emulation movement of Petrolimex staff celebrating the Group’s 60th establishment anniversary (January 12th 1956 – January 12th 2016).
SCTV and Petrolimex “Lively at any moment” – “Taking you further” toward new period of integration and development.
After signing the MOU, both side will instantly realize related jobs to broadcast the first episode of “Petrolimex chronicle” on Vietnam Petroleum Day – March 13th 2015.
