Petrolimex’s Deputy General Director takes over duties of General Director
On November 1, 2021, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group’s Board of Management (BOM) made public Decision assigning Deputy General Director Tran Ngoc Nam to take over duties of Petrolimex General Director, replacing Pham Duc Thang who reaches his retirement age.
BOM member - Petrolimex Deputy General Director Tran Ngoc Nam will act as Petrolimex General Director as of November 1, 2021 until new General Director is appointed.
Decision No 666/PLX-QĐ-HĐQT dated November 1, 2021 on assigning tasks to Tran Ngoc Nam, the BOM member - Petrolimex Deputy General Director is in accordance with the Law on Enterprises, Decision No 828/QĐ-TTg by the Prime Minister on the approval of the equitisation and restructuring of Petrolimex, Petrolimex regulations and Resolution No 219/PLX-NQ-HĐQT dated November 1, 2021.
Earlier, on October 29 Petrolimex held a ceremony, officially announcing that BOM member - Petrolimex General Director Pham Duc Thang would start his retirement from November 1, 2021.
The announcement ceremony witnessed the presence of Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) Nguyen Hoang Anh and representatives of the Commission’s Office and departments of Organisation and Personnel, General Affairs, and Industry. Also in attendance were Secretary of Party Committee - Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh who presided over the event, all members of the BOM and Board of Directors, and heads of Petrolimex departments/divisions and Petrolimex subsidiaries based in Hanoi.
Addressing the ceremony, CMSC Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh spoke highly of Nguyen Duc Thang’s role in and contributions to Petrolimex’s development given his professionalism and experience. He said Thang had directed, governed, and made efforts, along with Petrolimex leaders, officers and labourers, to fulfill production and business targets set by the Government, CMSC, ministries and sectors. The CMSC chairman said he expected that the latter would continue making contributions to the development of CMSC and the Group as well.
On behalf of Petrolimex leadership and staff, Secretary of Party Committee - Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh expressed his own gratitude and respect as well as those of the whole Petrolimex staff for the outgoing General Director Pham Duc Thang. The Petrolimex chairman shared memories he had with Thang and extended thanks to the latter for his support in work and life. The Petrolimex chairman also hoped that Thang would continuously provide the Group leadership with advices, leading Petrolimex to further successes in the future.
For his part, the retiring Petrolimex General Director said he attributed all achievements that Petrolimex obtained during his years to the care and directions of the leaders of CMSC and competent ministries and sectors; the solidarity and unanimity of Petrolimex leadership and staff over periods of time. Thang said he expected that his successor would make further attempts and promote Petrolimex’s collective strength to help the Group notch up successes in the Industry 4.0, reach targets set by the Annual General Meeting, raise the status and value of Petrolimex in the market, bring about added value for shareholders, and actively contribute to the national socio-economic development and energy security.
